I highly recommend that you read the Scrapbook! documentation file. It includes comprehensive information on just about everything you want to know about Scrapbook Helper and Insanely Great Software.
But for those of you who would rather just jump in, here's some quick information:
How to Use Scrapbook Helper:
Installing and using Scrapbook Helper couldn’t be easier!
Just drag Scrapbook Helper into your System Folder. The Finder will ask you if you want to put Scrapbook Helper into the Control Panels Folder. Click on the OK button. Restart your computer to activate Scrapbook Helper.
Setting up arrow key activation:
Scrapbook Helper is automatically set up to use the standard arrow keys on the keyboard. If the arrow keys don’t work, or you’d like to use different keys, take these steps.
1) Go to the Control Panels folder and open the Scrapbook Helper control panel.
2) Use the mouse or arrow keys to move to the “Scrapbook Left Key” or “Scrapbook Right Key” item. Then hit return, double-click on the item, or click on the Set Hot Key... button.
3) Type the hot key combination you want to use. The hot key you choose is taken literally—if you type the S key it will work every time you press the S key. So that you should probably use modifier keys (such as the Command Key, Option Key, Control, and/or Shift Key) in combination with another key for your hot key. Of course, for keys like the arrow keys, there is no need to use a modifier key.
Setting up the Launch Scrapbook Hot Key:
Follow the instructions above for setting up the arrow keys. However, instead of selecting the left arrow select the “Launch Scrapbook Hot Key” item. Once set up, this hot key will automatically open the scrapbook if it is not already open, or switch to the scrapbook if it is already open. Whenever you want to launch the scrapbook (or bring it to the front if it is already open), just type the hot key you chose. (The hot key is intentionally disabled however if the Scrapbook Helper Control Panel is open.)
If Scrapbook Helper cannot find the Scrapbook (perhaps you moved it to a folder different than the Apple Menu Items folder, or have an international Finder), it will ask you to find it. Simply find the Scrapbook file on your disk and open it. Scrapbook Helper will then memorize its location on your disk and find it from then on.
Changing Hot Keys on the Fly:
You can change hot keys whenever you want without rebooting. However, you will need to reboot if you had previously turned off Scrapbook Helper with an extension manager, or if you are installing Scrapbook Helper for the first time.

(We’ve provided order forms in both the Documentation file and separately in a TeachText document. You’ll want to use the TeachText document if you want to change the information online and then print or fax it.)
